Reid Memorial is a wonderful place for young people to discover a relationship with God and mature into young men and women of character. From simple Bible studies to mission trips to Mexico to fun and exciting weekend lock-ins, we employ a variety of methods to encourage commitment to know and serve God with joy.

The goal of our youth ministry is to reach young people of all ages with the good news of Jesus Christ, to connect them with other Christians, to lead them to grow in their faith, and to challenge them to actively serve and love God with their whole lives.

Two ministry teams, in conjunction with Sunday School teachers and other committed volunteers, share the vision of a youth program that will nurture, educate, and equip our youth to accept life's challenges with confidence and faith. Only with the cooperation and devotion of these people will this goal be achieved.

Reid offers a variety of programs for its young people from diapers through high school. Youth groups meet on Sundays at 4:30 and 5:45 respectively. The WORD program is a mid-week, program for infants through 5th grade consisting of Bible study, dinner, activities and games, and worship skills e.g. choir and handbells.

There are also a variety of other activities available. From putt-putt to ski trips to summer mission trips for both the middle school and high school youth to a variety of camps and conferences, there are always a variety of fellowship opportunities for all youth.

The devotion of the youth to their church is remarkable. While many of them are busy with baseball, track, rifle, fencing, softball, babysitting, college hunting, essay writing, bell ringing, piano lessons, tennis lessons, violin lessons, flute lessons, art projects, play practice, traveling, golf practice, soccer games, swim meets, many of them are still active on a regular basis.

Goals of our program

The goal of our youth ministry is to reach young people of all ages with the good news of Jesus Christ, to connect them with other Christians, to lead them to grow in their faith, and to challenge them to actively serve and love God with their whole lives.

Reaching

We are committed to reaching out to students who are not connected to Jesus Christ or the church. We always have an open seat available to someone new.

We plan special events such as putt-putt outings designed for new people to come and get connected. These events are usually fun-centered and provide great opportunities to bring friends. Check the latest youth calendar for the upcoming outreach events.

Connecting

We provide various opportunities for students to connect with each other including our regular Sunday morning Sunday School classes, Sunday afternoon activities, our midweek WORD proram for children from infancy to fifth grade, retreats, camps, ski trips, conferences and a variety of regular social events.

Growing

Students grow in their faith at Sunday School, Sunday afternoon activities, midweek WORD and other events with the primary goal of leading students into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Serving

Our youth group is not just a youth mnistry where students are ministered to. It is a group of youth in ministry, working as vital partners in our church's mission. You will find students singing in worship bands and choirs, teaching Sunday School, sitting in on committee meetings and joining summer mission trips to help the less fortunate.

Loving

All youth are encouraged to attend weekly worship Sunday.

A thriving youth program is of the utmost importance for the members of Reid Memorial. There are two ministry teams in conjunction with Sunday School teachers and other committed volunteers who share the vision of a youth program that will nurture, educate, and equip the youth to accept life's challenges with confidence and faith. Only with the cooperation and devotion of these people will this goal be achieved.
