WeddingsThe staff and Session of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church are delighted to assist Reid members in making their weddings beautiful and memorable occasions. Only church members and their children are eligible to be married in the sanctuary or chapel. New members must be active in the church's work and worship for at least six months before the day of their wedding ceremony.A Christian marriage is the loving commitment of a man and woman to each other in the presence of family and friends and in the sight of the triune God. Since a Christian marriage ceremony is more than a civil pageant, but a worship service, it is important that it express true Christian faith. ApplicationPlease call the Church office at 706-733-2275 to receive a Wedding Booklet covering wedding policies and fees and an Application Form. Make sure that the date and time you desire for your wedding is available and that the pastor you desire is available.Although it is possible for pastors of other churches to assist in the wedding ceremony, one of our pastors must be involved. Schedule an appointment with one of the pastors as soon as possible for a counseling session to discuss your relationship and marriage. Bring your application form with you to this session. No wedding date will be official until this counseling session has occurred. |
