Reid Memorial Mothers Day Out and Pre-School follows the Augusta-Richmond County school schedule. The school day is 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Mothers Day Out and Pre-School provides a Christian atmosphere for children to learn and play.

The Mother's Day Out and Pre-School Program is a non-profit Christian outreach. Our program has been in existence for more than 30 years. Quality child care and education are our goals.

We strive to create a child-centered and fun learning environment by providing a balance of directed activities and free play. Each class is designed to allow children to develop socially, emotionally and creatively at his or her own pace. A Christian environment is an important part of our program and is centered around weekly chapel and Christian example and guidance in the classrooms.

Mother's Day Out

Infant (3 months by Sept. 1 and 10 months by Sept. 1)
Our infant room teachers provide a warm loving atmosphere in which infants are nurtured. Activities in our nursery provide for free play as well as teacher-infant play. (All nursing babies must easily accept a bottle.)

Toddler (10-17 months by Sept. 1 and 17-24 months by Sept. 1)
Our toddler teachers provide an atmosphere promoting natural development through unstructured activities, free play and group play. Christian ideals are emphasized through practicing good manners and learning to share. Books, songs, and object labeling are some of the things introduced to the children.

Two-year-olds (two years old by Sept. 1)
Teachers for the two year olds encourage the development of cooperative play in the classroom and on the playground. The class schedule includes chapel, music and story time on a regular basis. Activities and crafts introduce colors, seasons, holiday and shapes in a fun way.

Pre-school three year olds (three years old by Sept. 1)
The teachers for the three year olds provide continued learning of colors, shapes and numbers through fun activities and crafts, which develop many large motor skills. Class schedules include chapel, music and story time on a regular basis. Three year olds also take field trips.

Four year old (four years old by Sept. 1)
The certified teachers for the four year olds concentrate on providing a kindergarten readiness program. The classes are taught through a multi-sensory approach to learning in a fun, non-pressured atmosphere. Class schedules include chapel, music, foreign language and story time on a regular basis. Four year olds also attend plays and go on field trips. They develop a working knowledge of computers and encourage development of large and small motor skills through sorting and patterning.

All classes have two adults who have been trained in pediatric first aid and CPR. Pre-school teachers have early education degrees with classroom experience.

Do You Love Children?

Reid Mothers Day Out and pre-school staff is always looking for loving, Christian individuals to add to our staff. We need part-time and full-time teachers and we need substitutes.

Mothers Day Out staff and pre-school assistants need practical experience. Pre-school teachers (teaching three and four year olds) are required to have education degrees. If you love children and want to have fun on the job, Mothers Day Out and Pre-School Director Ellen Herin can give you more information.

You may request a form by phone. Any child who does not have a form on file in the office may not return in January until the certificate is submitted to the office. Please take care of this matter while it is fresh in your mind. If you would like, you may fax it to 706-738-4000.
