Reid MDO and Pre-School follows a Richmond County school schedule. Our school day is from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. each day. Reid Memorial Mothers Day Out and Pre-School provides a Christian atmosphere for approximately 200 children to learn and play.

The Mother's Day Out and Pre-School Program at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church is a non-profit Christian outreach. Our program has been in existence for more than 30 years. Quality child care and education are our goals.

We strive to create a child-centered and fun learning environment by providing a balance of directed activities and free play. Each class is designed to allow your child to develop socially, emotionally, and creatively at his or her own pace. A Christian environment is an important part of our program and is centered around weekly Chapel and Christian example and guidance in the classrooms.

Mother's Day Out

Infant Rooms (3 months by Sept. 1 and 10 months by Sept. 1)
Our infant room teachers provide a warm loving atmosphere in which to nurture infants. Activities in our nursery provide for free play as well as teacher-infant play. (Please remember that all nursing babies must easily accept a bottle.)

Toddler Rooms (10-17 months by Sept. 1 and 17-24 months by Sept. 1)
Our toddler room teachers provide an atmosphere promoting natural development through unstructured activities, free play and group play. Christian ideals are emphasized through practicing good manners and learning to share. Books, songs, and object labeling are some of the things introduced to the children.

Two-Year-Old Rooms (2-years-old by Sept. 1)
Our teachers for the 2 year olds encourage the development of cooperative play in the classroom and on the playground. The class schedule includes Chapel, music, and story time on a regular basis. Activities and crafts introduce colors, seasons, holiday, and shapes in a fun way.

Pre-School 3-Year-Old Rooms (3 years old by Sept. 1)
The teachers for the 3 year olds provide continued learning of colors, shapes, and numbers through fun activities and crafts, which develop many large motor skills. Class schedules include Chapel, music, and story time on a regular basis. Three year olds also take field trips.

Four-Year-Old Rooms (4 years old by Sept. 1)
The certified teachers for the 4 year olds concentrate on providing a kindergarten readiness program. The classes are taught through a multi-sensory approach to learning in a fun, non-pressured atmosphere. Class schedules include Chapel, music, foreign language and story time on a regular basis. Four year olds also attend plays and go on field trips. They develop a working knowledge of computers and encourage development of large and small motor skills through sorting and patterning.

All of our classes have two adults who have been trained in pediatric first aid and CPR. Our pre-school teachers have early education degrees with classroom experience.

Do You Love Children?

Reid Mothers Day Out and Pre-School Staff is always looking for loving, Christian individuals to add to our staff. We need part-time and full-time teachers, and we need substitutes.

Mothers Day Out staff and pre-school assistants need practical experience. Pre-school teachers (teaching threes and fours) are required to have education degrees. If you love children and want to have fun on the job, Ellen Herin can give you further information.

Registration

Reid Memorial has registration in January and February for the following school year. A priority day is given to church members and currently enrolled, and then registration is opened to the public.

This year's twos and threes will be eligible for Pre-school and will register by completing the application and returning it to the Director no later than their designated day. Threes may choose from a Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, or a Monday-Friday schedule. Fours may choose a Monday-Thursday or a Monday-Friday classes.

Mothers Day Out students range from 3 months to 2 years old on September 1. The Board of Directors and the Director will have registration tables set up in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.each day. Students will be registered in the order that parents arrive on their appropriate day.

Detailed information will be sent home to parents in their child's bookbags and will be available in the office after the holidays. This will include instructions and tuition rates. You will be asked to present a registration fee equal to one month's tuition at the time of registration.

Pre-School Reminder

Georgia law requires that we have an immunization certificate on file for each child in the program. Each child needs form # 3231 from his or her pediatrician. It does not reqire a visit. You may request a form by phone. Any child who does not have a form on file in the office may not return in January until the certificate is submitted to the office. Please take care of this matter while it is fresh in your mind. If you would like, you may have it faxed to 706-738-4000.
