How to Join
We invite you to make Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church your church family, joining with us in our worship and ministry as we seek to be faithful to Jesus Christ. There are three ways to join our congregation:
- On Profession of Faith (for those who have not been baptized)
- On Reaffirmation of Faith (for those who have been baptized, but who do not currently belong to another Christian church.)
- By Transfer of Membership from another church.
In all three cases, you would join by giving affirmative answers to the following three questions from the Presbyterian baptism service:
- Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?
- Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?
- Do you turn to Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and Savior, trusting in his grace and love?
- Will you be Christ's faithful disciple, obeying his Word and showing his love?
Our pastors and church officers will be happy to explore church membership with you at any time. Just speak with us when you are here or call the church at 706-733-2275.
To help you get to know us and determine whether or not we would be a good church for you to grow and serve in your Christian life, (a church where you are comfortable, but not too comfortable), we offer orientation programs called "Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and You."
These programs are on Sundays and include a survey of Presbyterian belief, an introduction to our staff and ministries and a tour of our church campus. Child care is provided.
